Who we are

Sumud Learning Hive ("we") operates the Sumud Arabic learning platform. Contact: hello@sumudlearninghive.com.au.

What we collect

• Account details you provide (email address).
• Learning progress (which lessons you complete).
• Payment status (handled by Stripe; we never see your card details).
• Homework you submit for marking (photos of your work and any notes).
• Basic usage analytics to improve the course.

How we use it

To provide your account, save your progress across devices, process enrolment, and improve the platform. We do not sell your personal information.

Homework photos & automated analysis

When you submit homework for marking, the photo is stored privately and reviewed by a tutor. To speed up marking, the image may first be analysed by an automated AI tool (Google's Gemini API) to produce draft feedback, which a human tutor then reviews and confirms. Google's free service tier may retain and use submitted images to improve their models, so please avoid including names or other personal details in the photo. You can ask us not to use automated analysis on your submissions by emailing us.

Processors

We use Supabase (accounts and data storage), Stripe (payments), Google (Gemini AI for draft homework feedback), and our hosting provider. Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Children

If learners under 18 use the platform, a parent or guardian should set up and supervise the account. See our Child Safety statement.
